Coaching that meets you where you're at — to focus, grow, and thrive.

What is "Neurodivergence"?
Neurodivergence is an umbrella term that describes people with any number of neurodevelopmental differences including autism, ADHD, specific learning disabilities, sensory processing disorders and others. Conversely, saying someone is "neuro-typical" means that a person may not share the same challenges that a neurodivergent person may have. Coaching can be extremely helpful for neurodivergent folks, as they have challenges that are not well understood by others, even by those in the medical community. A coach is a partner that "gets it". A neurodivergent coach understands what you are going through and how to help in a way that best fits you.

Brave Enough to Drop the Mask
Our true authentic self and our outward identity that we project to the world are oftentimes two different things. Both of these grow and evolve along with us, for the entirety of our lives.
Unfortunately for some, certain identities are valued more than others in our society, and those that are deemed “different” can be viewed as less than. This is a major reason why many of us on the Queer and Neurodivergent spectrums can fall into patterns of masking our true identities and authentic selves; to avoid judgment and poor treatment from others. I have this in common with so many of my clients. I hid essential parts of myself, and masked neurodivergence for many, many years. At the time, I wanted to help people with disabilities and on the neurodivergent spectrums, but I did not want to be a person with an invisible disability. I wanted to advocate for the rights of queer people, but I did not want to be a queer person. The reason for this was simply that when I was growing up, I perceived being gay as something that was viewed negatively by others and I wanted to fit in and be accepted b my peers. Finally, much later into my adulthood, the weight of keeping up masks of being straight, "normal" or typical, a "good girl/daughter/friend/partner", all caught up with me. I had to blow up the life I had carefully curated for myself in order to find who I really am. The process was NOT easy, and I had to get support from others to make it through such a massive transition. Ultimately, I had to gather enough courage to come out, not only as a queer person, but as a neurodivergent person as well.
Choosing to change your life to be the best it can be for you is HARD, but, it is worth it. You can trust me on that.
In my coaching practice, I want to empower people of all neurodivergent, queer, cultural and racial identities to live as authentically as possible to create a meaningful and fulfilling life. The process does not have to be as dramatic as my own and you do not have to do it all at once. You also do not have to do it alone. As a neurodivergent coach, TRUST ME when I say I GET IT. To this day I sometimes still feel the discomfort of being "different". In my practice I want to walk alongside you as you gather courage, gain concrete skills, learn specific tools, and grow in self awareness to live your best life.
We deserve it. Let's go.
~ Mary Claire

ADHD, Autism and "AuDHD"
Autism and ADHD have many distinct features, but they also have many characteristics that overlap. In recent years the term "AuDHD" has emerged to describe people that have symptoms of BOTH disorders. One of the primary reasons for this is that professionals could not diagnose both autism and ADHD in one individual until 2013. Now, both diagnoses can be obtained to give a more accurate picture of all the the symptoms and challenges they face on a day to day basis. Although the term AuDHD is not a formal diagnosis, professionals can now diagnose both ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
As a coach and therapist, I can NOT diagnose any disorder. However, I am able to provide insight and guidance to my clients to help them get answers and direct them toward appropriate resources.
Do I need a Diagnosis to begin Coaching?
NO! Obtaining a diagnosis can be a difficult process in itself! As a therapist and coach I CANNOT diagnose any condition. However, I can help you navigate the systems and locate resources to obtain a diagnosis, IF that is something you want to explore!
